Kaitlin Di Pierdomenico, MA. is a PhD student in the Health Policy & Equity program at York University. In her work, Katie is interested in better understanding tensions between policy and practice in moving towards integrative person-centered mental health care. Guided by Mad activism, critical psychiatry, and the theory of institutionalism, she aims to expose the social and structural inequities that influence access to services and supports that are responsive to individual mental health needs. Katie has co-authored research papers examining fragmented accountability in the governance of mental health care and challenges within the implementation of models of collaborative care and local networks that foster service coordination and policy accountability.
